Storm Mora Su is approaching the eastern shores of India and is expected to make landfall at midnight. According to information released by the India Meteorological Department, this severe storm will make landfall with wind speeds between 100 to 110 kilometers per hour, accompanied by gusts of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

Predicted Impacts of Storm Mora Su

Storm Mora Su is expected to hit the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh, bringing heavy rains to the region. Areas between Nellore and Narsapur, near the city of Ongole, are among the locations that the storm will reach. While the previous storm named Arnab affected the shores of Andhra Pradesh last week, resulting in heavy rains and the deaths of at least three people, Storm Mora Su appears to be entering with weaker winds compared to its predecessors, but it could bring more rain to the affected areas.

Weather Consequences and Warnings

The storm season is heavily influenced by the El Niño weather phenomenon, which has caused record warming and changes in wind, pressure, and rainfall patterns globally. The India Meteorological Department has warned that strong winds may damage thatched houses, tear off roofs, and uproot trees. Additionally, this storm could also harm agricultural products, orchards, and farms.

Storms, known as hurricanes in the Atlantic and typhoons in the Pacific, regularly threaten the shores of the Bay of Bengal and the northern Indian Ocean. These weather threats are continuously increasing, making preparedness and rapid, effective responses in these areas essential.
