Iran announced on Saturday that its military forces have become significantly stronger since the start of the war with the United States, which began in late February with an attack by that country and Israel on Iran. These statements come as the United States has set a $20 million reward for information regarding Iran's nuclear program.

Control of the Strait of Hormuz and Strengthening Forces

Iranian Army spokesman Mohammad Akraminian emphasized that Tehran has maintained control over the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of the world's oil consumption passes, and that this waterway will remain closed until Iran's demands from the United States are met. He also referred to the boosted morale and confidence of Iran's military forces, stating: "Today, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic... with experience gained from direct confrontation with the United States and the Israeli regime, are in a higher state of readiness and stronger than at the beginning of the war."

Decisive Response to Threats

Akraminian added: "The response of the armed forces will be immediate, effective, and without geographical limitations based on the leadership's command." These remarks come following the U.S. Army's announcement regarding the $20 million reward for information about Iran's nuclear program. The U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice program seeks information about facilities, equipment, and personnel related to Iran's nuclear program.

The U.S. State Department stated in a statement that Iran's lack of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding safeguards obligations has led to the loss of the agency's "continuity of knowledge" regarding the production and inventory of key components such as centrifuges. The department also referenced statements by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, who has repeatedly said that U.S. forces have effectively destroyed Iran's nuclear program.

Trump also emphasized that if the United States had not attacked Iran, Israel would not exist today, adding: "If they had nuclear weapons, they would use them. They would destroy the Middle East." He also pointed out that Iran, which he claimed has suffered severe damage to its economy and military during eight months of war, is very eager to end this conflict.

In a call Trump had with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, they discussed efforts to end the war. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also announced this week that his government is still trying to resolve the crisis through dialogue.

On Saturday morning, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that two missiles struck Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, although no official information regarding potential damages has been provided. Iranian state television also reported that two explosions occurred on this island, and the Iranian army announced that on Saturday morning, its air defense targeted and destroyed an American drone flying over the island.
