Kral Hart, a South African author, has published over 370 books using artificial intelligence since February 2025. This author, who uses a pseudonym to protect their true identity, strongly defends their method despite receiving significant criticism and threats.

Challenges and Criticism

Hart has stated that they have received "tens of thousands" of hate messages and several death threats, and many other authors who use artificial intelligence are reluctant to speak publicly. They said, "I chose to be one of the people who engages in these discussions. This reality exists, and no one can silence it."

Creation Process

Before starting to write with artificial intelligence, Hart worked in the publishing industry for 14 years and has written several books without this technology. They spent three months familiarizing themselves with various AI models and creating a framework for book production. Hart now switches between different models like ChatGPT and Claude to produce their content.

They explain: "If you tell ChatGPT to write a book, you will get a low-quality result. I determine the concept of the story, style, character details, and chapter outlines, and then my system generates the book."

The first draft is usually of low quality, and AI is used again for editing and fixing issues. Then, a human editor reviews and corrects all the "traces of AI that remain."

One of their novels has made it to the list of Amazon's 100 bestsellers, and Hart estimates that they have sold over a million books in digital, print, and audio formats, earning more than a million dollars through this. They are currently managing an operation that trains several hundred people in their method and are preparing software for AI authors called Authorythm.

Hart, who also writes under other pseudonyms, only admits to using artificial intelligence when a sales platform requests it. They respond to criticism regarding the production of low-quality content by stating that "readers do not read low-quality books and return them."
