The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) interior ministers meeting in Manama was called by Kuwait's Deputy Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib, to strengthen cooperation and security coordination among the member states of the council. He referred to the changing security challenges and the necessity of developing human and technical capacities to increase the effectiveness of security institutions during this meeting.

Reviewing Security Challenges and Solidarity with Saudi Arabia

Lieutenant General Al-Wuhaib emphasized Kuwait's firm solidarity with Saudi Arabia against Houthi attacks during this meeting, which was held in preparation for the forty-third GCC interior ministers meeting. He strongly condemned these attacks, which target civilian facilities and the lives of innocent people, considering them a threat to the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the entire region.

Expanding Digital Transformation and Information Exchange

Furthermore, Al-Wuhaib stressed the need to expand digital transformation projects among the GCC interior ministries. He called for accelerating the exchange of information and data between security institutions and enhancing the electronic integration of services and procedures. These actions could help security institutions address security challenges more effectively.

Previously, Bahrain's Interior Minister, General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, welcomed Al-Wuhaib and other heads of delegations present. Al-Wuhaib praised Bahrain's efforts as the current president of the Gulf Cooperation Council in organizing these preparatory sessions and conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Sheikh Rashid also emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries as the foundation for effectively addressing challenges and emergencies. This meeting is considered one of the fundamental steps towards strengthening security and stability in the Gulf region and coordination among member countries.
