Al-Adan Hospital in Kuwait has recently launched an innovative program for tricuspid heart valve replacement. This program includes performing two surgeries using the LuX-Valve Plus device, which is done through the jugular vein in the neck with very small incisions. These actions were accompanied by a specialized workshop at the Salman Al-Dabbous Heart Center.

Details of the Tricuspid Valve Replacement Program

The tricuspid heart valve replacement operations are performed to reduce complications and improve the quality of life for patients with heart failure. Using minimally invasive methods, doctors can replace the damaged valve without the need for open-heart surgery, through small incisions. This method allows patients to quickly engage in their recovery process and return to their normal lives in a shorter time.

Medical and Government Support for this Initiative

This program was implemented with the support and supervision of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al-Awadi, and the Deputy Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Salman Khaled Al-Sabah. Additionally, the anesthesia and intensive care teams, led by the heads of the relevant departments, including Dr. Badr Al-Eiad, Dr. Huda Al-Fadari, and Dr. Mohammed Shamsa, played a significant role in carrying out these procedures.

This initiative not only reflects recent advancements in the field of medicine and cardiac surgeries in Kuwait but can also serve as a model for other healthcare centers in the region. Given the increasing demand for effective minimally invasive treatment methods, such advancements can contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services in the Gulf countries.

Ultimately, these actions herald a brighter future for patients with heart failure in Kuwait and the region, and they may gradually lead to a wider acceptance of these innovative treatment methods.
