Strengthening Military Cooperation through JEF
The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), which includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, focuses on mutual support actions, military cooperation, and operational capabilities. The goal of this coalition is to enhance collective capabilities and readiness to respond to regional security challenges. BATUS Project and Technological Advancements
Continuing these collaborations, the two countries are working on the future BATUS project, which aims to create a permanent mechanism for modernizing the British Army training unit in Canada. This project is designed to showcase CFB Suffield as a location for developing and testing new equipment and advanced technologies. The Prime Minister's Office of Canada has stated that this project could serve as a platform for innovation and advancement in the defense sector.
In addition to defense issues, the two prime ministers have also focused on strengthening economic cooperation and agreeing on deeper collaboration in advanced technologies, including the safe and responsible development of artificial intelligence. These agreements reflect the commitment of both countries to collaborate in innovative fields and ensure regional security.
The Prime Ministers of Canada and the United Kingdom concluded their statement by announcing that they will continue their close contact and explore new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
