Nawaf Al-Ghareeba, a Kuwaiti composer and conductor, took audiences on an unforgettable journey with his symphonic concert titled 'Orbis Luna' held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre. This special night was where music, emotions, and imagination intertwined, transporting spectators to a transcendent world. Al-Ghareeba stated, "I consider myself a storyteller. I just use music instead of words."
Nawaf Al-Ghareeba's Musical Journey
For Nawaf Al-Ghareeba, music has always been an independent language. He became acquainted with the piano in childhood and then stepped into the world of classical music, jazz, hip-hop, and cinematic orchestration. This composer, conductor, and researcher in the field of composition continues to explore the space that connects different musical worlds.

Al-Ghareeba spoke about his first encounter with music and its impact on his life, saying: "What initially attracted me to music was its ability to create a world without saying a single word. I could sit at the piano for hours discovering new melodies. Music gives me freedom and is a place where my imagination knows no bounds."
Manifestation of the Dream 'Orbis Luna'
Nawaf Al-Ghareeba's dreams about 'Orbis Luna' were shaped in childhood, inspired by film music, especially the works of John Williams. He recalls how an orchestra can bring a fantasy world to life and always imagined that one day his compositions would be performed by a full orchestra. He ultimately decided to create this opportunity himself and pursue his dream.
The title 'Orbis Luna' means the world of the moon and symbolizes for Al-Ghareeba imagination and a journey toward the impossible. He expressed, "The moon is something that belongs to everyone, but each person sees something different. Music works the same way; we can listen to a piece, but each individual experiences a different story."
Al-Ghareeba also spoke about the challenges he faced: "The biggest challenge in realizing this project was gathering all the elements. A symphonic orchestra is not just a large group of musicians; it is a very complex musical organization where each section and each instrument has a specific role."
In this concert, various works including 'Voyage of a Cello' and 'Concerto No. 1 for Violin' were performed. Al-Ghareeba explained that each of these works has its own unique story, but they are all connected by one common thread: human emotions. He stated, "These works are like different chapters of a book, and I wanted this concert to go beyond a specific musical style."
