The Main Committee of the Muscat International Book Fair held a meeting chaired by Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al-Harasi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Committee, to review the necessary preparations for the 30th edition of the fair. This meeting addressed various aspects related to the organization of this cultural event and set the date for its holding from March 24 to April 3, 2027.
Topics and Programs Related to the Fair
In this meeting, the initial concepts of programs related to the fair were discussed to bring together writers, thinkers, publishers, and cultural enthusiasts, considering its position as a cultural and knowledge platform. The committee also reviewed the details of the participation of the Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate as a special guest for this edition and addressed the proposed topics and themes to introduce the historical, civilizational, cultural, and economic aspects of the Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate. The aim of these topics will be to showcase the heritage, natural resources, and investment capacities of the Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate.

Cultural Theme of the 30th Edition of the Fair
This meeting also addressed the theme of the 30th edition titled "Creative Industries" and its cultural, knowledge, and economic dimensions, discussing its role in illuminating the fields of creativity and innovation and strengthening the presence of cultural and creative industries as one of the infrastructures for cultural and economic development. This theme could help develop and expand cultural industries in Oman and create more opportunities for cultural and literary exchange.
Moreover, the meeting emphasized the importance of continuing preparations and coordination among relevant institutions. This coordination and cooperation can contribute to achieving the cultural and knowledge objectives of the fair and strengthening the position of the Muscat International Book Fair as one of the most important cultural events in Oman.
