Oman introduced its position as a competitive investment destination at the GCC-UK Investment Dialogue held in London, showcasing various opportunities in priority economic sectors.

Oman's Presence in Strategic Dialogues

Omani representatives included 'Invest in Oman' from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Muscat Securities Market (MSX), and the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad) in these strategic dialogues between the UK and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

This event, supported by the GCC General Secretariat, was attended by high-ranking government officials, decision-makers, investors, and leaders of economic institutions and global companies. Approximately 350 government officials and leaders of financial and investment institutions and major companies gathered to discuss the future of economic relations between the Gulf and the UK.

Cooperation Opportunities in Various Sectors

The dialogue aimed to explore cooperation opportunities in trade, investment, energy, technology, innovation, financial services, and infrastructure, promoting long-term economic partnerships between the two parties.

Haitham bin Salim Al-Salmi, CEO of Muscat Securities Market, stated that participating in this strategic dialogue is an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the financial markets of the Gulf and the UK. He also highlighted the importance of leveraging international experiences in developing financial market infrastructures and increasing liquidity and market depth.

He emphasized that expanding communication channels with global financial and investment institutions helps introduce existing opportunities in the Omani market and supports the entry of new investors.

Al-Salmi also mentioned that MSX is working to strengthen its presence in international financial markets and is seeking to develop strategic partnerships with global financial and investment institutions to facilitate international investors' access to the Omani market and enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Muscat Securities Market.

Ahmed bin Akak, CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad), stated that the participation of this zone is part of the efforts of the 'Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones' to strengthen the presence of Oman's economic zones in international forums and facilitate economic and investment cooperation between GCC countries and the UK.

He pointed out the competitive advantages and economic and investment developments in Sezad, stating that this zone can serve as a regional hub for advanced industries, logistics, and clean energy.

Engineer Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Kindi, CEO of 'Invest in Oman', also reviewed the competitive advantages and investment opportunities in Oman and emphasized the ministry's efforts to develop the investment system, facilitate processes, and enhance service efficiency for investors.

He stated that participation in this international economic forum continues the ministry's efforts to strengthen Oman's investment presence in global markets, and the goal of these participations is to transform direct communications with investors and economic institutions into practical partnerships and high-quality investment projects that create added value for the national economy.
