The Sultanate of Oman, through relentless efforts to develop the postal sector, has successfully achieved first place in the regional postal development index for the second consecutive year and received the "Regional Pioneer" award in the 2026 postal development index published by the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

Realizing Achievements and Improving Postal Services

This achievement signifies a major transformation in Oman's postal sector and points to the efforts made to enhance the efficiency of postal services and expand their reach. This result is celebrated alongside the global Postal Day in Oman, which this year is held under the slogan "One Postal Network, Countless Possibilities." This slogan refers to the development and achievements made in Oman's postal sector, which has elevated its status at both regional and international levels.

Growth of Postal Service Network in Oman

The postal service network in Oman has witnessed significant growth in the number of post offices and access points. The number of these points has increased from 610 in 2024 to 704 in 2025, which has helped expand postal services and access for various segments of society across the provinces. Muscat province has the highest number of access points with 107, followed by Dhofar province with 50 points and North Al Batinah province with 39 points.

Advancements in Domestic Express Mail Sector

The domestic express mail sector also saw a 26% growth in 2025, reaching over 4.38 million packages. Additionally, over 3 million imported international packages were managed, indicating an increase in demand for postal services and its role in supporting trade and logistics.

These successes not only represent Oman's continuous efforts to improve the quality of postal services but also demonstrate the country's steadfast commitment to enhancing infrastructure and empowering the postal network as a key pillar of economic and social development. In this regard, Oman pays special attention to the needs of the community and businesses in providing postal services and strives to take effective steps towards improving the efficiency and quality of its services by employing modern technologies.

Ultimately, this achievement is recognized not only as a national success for Oman but can also inspire other countries in the region to enhance their postal infrastructures to achieve economic and social growth.
