Oman, under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, will hold bilateral business meetings between Omani exporters and their Kazakh counterparts in the city of Almaty next Tuesday. This initiative aims to expand non-oil exports and strengthen trade relations with Central Asian countries.

Three-Day Program and Its Objectives

The three-day program of these meetings is designed to establish connections between Omani exporters and importers, distributors, and business actors in Kazakhstan. These meetings will allow participants to explore new market opportunities and create partnerships to support the international expansion of Omani products, in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The business meetings will include business coordination sessions where Omani representatives will meet with about 100 to 150 Kazakh companies and business actors. Additionally, informational sessions about the market and field visits to relevant institutions will also be held. Participants will also explore opportunities to sign memorandums of understanding and establish long-term business partnerships.

Special Role of Lukna bint Mohammed Al-Harthy

Lukna bint Mohammed Al-Harthy, Director of the Export Development Department at the Ministry of Commerce of Oman, stated that this initiative will provide a direct platform for Omani companies to interact with importers and business leaders in Kazakhstan. She added that these meetings will help participants understand market needs and seek opportunities for long-term contracts.

Al-Harthy also emphasized that Oman Export aims to assist national companies in turning business interests into real and tangible deals. She introduced Kazakhstan as a promising gateway to neighboring Central Asian markets due to its strategic logistical position.

Business Priorities and Future Outlook

Priority sectors include pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, food products and fisheries, marble and construction materials, aluminum, metals, and petrochemicals. Al-Harthy pointed to the growth of bilateral trade in the first half of 2026, describing it as a sign of the potential for further expansion of economic cooperation between Oman and Kazakhstan.

This initiative is part of Oman Export's plans to promote national products in priority international markets in 2026 and 2027. The goal of this program is to strengthen export channels and leverage Oman’s ports and logistical infrastructure to facilitate trade.

This program is also expected to help small and medium-sized enterprises ready for export gain access to new business networks and distribution channels, thereby increasing the reach and competitiveness of Omani non-oil products in regional and international markets.
