Nasser bin Hamad Al-Hanzab, Chairman of the UNESCO Executive Board and Qatar's Permanent Representative to UNESCO, recently emphasized in a speech that Qatar is recognized as one of the global pioneers in preserving and supporting the right to education during times of crisis. He highlighted Qatar's role in protecting education and schooling, referencing the difficult conditions and challenges faced by many countries.

Qatar's Tireless Efforts

According to Al-Hanzab, Qatar has demonstrated that it is unwilling to compromise on the rights of children and youth in education under any circumstances by investing in educational programs and promoting initiatives that help protect the right to education. The country provides hope and opportunities for children and youth in war-affected areas by establishing educational infrastructure and conducting workshops and educational seminars.

Al-Hanzab also emphasized the importance of international cooperation in this field, stating, "Qatar is not alone; rather, it is working with other countries and international organizations to make access to education possible anywhere in the world."

Challenges Facing Education in Crises

In recent years, humanitarian crises and civil wars in several countries, particularly in the Middle East, have deprived millions of children of their right to education. Accordingly, Qatar, as a leading country in this area, has designed multiple programs to support education and schooling in these affected regions.

Given the existing challenges, Qatar's role in protecting education as a key component of global sustainable development has received significant attention. The country is recognized not only at the regional level but also globally as a successful model in this field, striving to strengthen educational infrastructure to help create an informed and literate society.
