On Monday, Palestinians returned to their damaged homes in a neighborhood of Hebron in the West Bank, after the Israeli army concluded its 10-day operation. According to provided information, this operation led to the displacement of over 3,000 people in the city.

Details of the Israeli Military Operation

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, ordered this operation after two Israeli soldiers were killed at a checkpoint in Hebron on October 23. Both attackers were killed in this incident.

An Israeli military official stated that the army exited the area on Monday and conducted thorough searches in several locations during the operation, detaining and questioning a number of suspects. Additionally, four weapons, several vests, and other military equipment were discovered and seized.

Experiences of Palestinians from the Attack

Tamara Abid, a resident of the neighborhood, encountered a heartbreaking scene of broken furniture and scattered toys while returning home. She described the moment Israeli forces entered her home: "They entered in a very frightening manner. They blew up the door and came in. We couldn't bear this situation. The children were screaming, and they came towards me in the bedroom and pointed their weapons at my head."

Israeli military forces announced on Friday that they had demolished the homes of the attackers, one of which was located close to Abid's home. Furthermore, according to local officials, the Israeli army has taken measures to demolish homes, shops, roads, and factories in Hebron following this attack.

The Israeli military operation last week has led to protests by Palestinians in Hebron. This ancient city is home to hundreds of Israelis living alongside tens of thousands of Palestinians.

The increase in violence in the West Bank has begun since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and the subsequent military operations by Israel in Gaza. This violence includes an increase in attacks by Israeli assailants on Palestinians as well as extensive military operations by Israel and attacks by Palestinians on Israelis.
