Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, responded to a question about the negotiations between Iran and the U.S., stating that these negotiations are continuing indirectly through intermediary countries, including Pakistan and Qatar. He also announced the presentation of the seven-day plan to the American side, saying that Iran's conditions are clearly outlined in this plan.

U.S. Agreement to Iran's Conditions

Araghchi emphasized that it was supposed to be on the sixth day of this period that the Strait of Hormuz would be fully opened, and the Americans officially announced that they agree with these conditions, but they requested the addition of a few more clauses to it.

U.S. Commitments and the Negotiation Process

The Iranian Foreign Minister further explained the additional conditions raised by the Americans, stating that these conditions relate to topics that were previously addressed during earlier negotiations. Araghchi emphasized that Iran demands the U.S. to adhere to all commitments outlined in the Islamabad memorandum, and only after that can they engage in negotiations on other issues.

Araghchi also pointed out that if the other party adheres to the agreements, the doors of diplomacy remain open and the negotiation table will continue to exist. He clarified that it is the American side that is closing the door, and Iran is ready for negotiation.

In response to a question about the rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, the Iranian position was deemed clear, emphasizing that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and any ship wishing to pass through this waterway will face serious problems. Araghchi stated that the Americans should be asked why they allow ships to pass through a waterway that is facing difficulties due to the lack of an agreement.

He also pointed out that after more than eight months of this war, the U.S. has not achieved any of its goals, and the failure to achieve these goals is a strategic defeat for the U.S. and a strategic success for Iran. Araghchi asserted that the only suitable solution is diplomacy and negotiation, and Iran will not surrender either to economic sanctions or military threats.
