Syria and the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement to advance a supervised project in the field of private sector investment in the post-war reconstruction process. This agreement was signed on Monday between the Abu Dhabi-based developer, Eagle Hills, and Syrian officials and includes major projects in housing and tourism in the cities of Damascus and Latakia.
Details of the Agreement and Its Impact
This agreement, which is part of efforts to revive the Syrian economy, is particularly under the leadership of Mohammed Alabbar, the Emirati billionaire, and could include investments worth up to $20 billion. These projects will not only help revive the Syrian economy but also represent one of the largest Emirati investments in Syria.

The agreement was signed at an investment event in Damascus attended by President Ahmad Al-Shara'a and Mohammed Alabbar. This agreement includes urban and tourism projects in Damascus and the coastal city of Latakia, with two projects set to directly enter the implementation phase.
Housing and Tourism Projects in Damascus and Latakia
Mohammed Alabbar, founder of Eagle Hills and Emaar Properties, has identified the projects as "Tadamoun Towers" in Damascus and "Ecological Living" in Latakia. These projects are designed as integrated communities that will include homes, tourism facilities, services, and public spaces.
As Syria seeks to attract foreign investments for the reconstruction of its infrastructure, this agreement could be seen as a symbol of the return of stability and growth to the country. The United Arab Emirates, as one of the leading countries in the investment sector in the Middle East, is looking to strengthen its relations with Damascus and participate in the reconstruction process of this country.
Given the economic and social challenges that Syria faces, these projects could help create jobs and improve infrastructure. This agreement may also serve as a model for other countries in the region in terms of investment and economic cooperation.
