The Oman Writers and Authors Organization, along with the General Directorate of Education in Dhofar Governorate, held the ceremony to honor the winners of the Literary Creativity Award among students yesterday. This event took place at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, the Governor of Dhofar.
Purpose and Categories of the Competition
This competition was designed to identify and encourage literary talents among students of public and private schools, as well as students with special needs. The Literary Creativity Award is divided into three categories: the Junior category for elementary school students (grades 1 to 5) in the field of poetry reading; the Young category for middle school students (grades 6 to 9) in the fields of poetry reading, public speaking in classical Arabic, and storytelling; and the Youth category for high school students (grades 10 to 12) in the fields of literary text analysis (poetry), storytelling, and composing classical Arabic poetry.
