Mubarak bin Mohammed Al-Kuwairi, a member of the Shura Council of Qatar, was elected as the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs, and National Security Committee of the Arab Parliament during a ceremonial session in Cairo. This election was conducted by acclamation and without any opposition.
The New Chairman of the Arab Parliament from Saudi Arabia
In the same session, Saad bin Sulaib Al-Otaibi, a member of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, was elected as the Chairman of the Arab Parliament. He was appointed to this position in place of Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi from the United Arab Emirates, who had completed his two-year term.

Election of Vice-Chairs and Future Plans
Four other vice-chairs were elected from among eight candidates. Representatives from Oman (Saeed bin Hamad bin Hilal Al-Saadi), Egypt (Hisham Al-Hosari), and Jordan (Ehsan Barakat) succeeded in securing seats in the first round of voting. The representative from Libya, Abdul Salam Nasiah, also managed to secure the fourth seat after a second round of voting.
The newly elected body held a closed session in Cairo on Saturday to prepare for the upcoming term. The permanent committees of the Parliament, including the Foreign Affairs Committee chaired by Qatar and the Palestine Committee, will also convene on Sunday before the first public session of the new term.
These elections not only reflect the cooperation of Arab countries in foreign policy and national security but also help strengthen the role of the Arab Parliament in regional and international issues. Given the current developments in the region and the challenges ahead, it is expected that this committee will play an active role in managing international relations and security issues.
