Oman, represented by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), will host a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from October 25 to November 8, 2023. The purpose of this mission is to conduct periodic Article IV consultations and review recent economic and financial developments in the Sultanate of Oman.

Review of Economic Policies and Future Outlook

This mission will examine Oman’s economic policies and future outlook. Topics such as fiscal and monetary policies, financial stability, external sector developments, and structural reforms to support sustainable economic growth will be the focus. These consultations aim to strengthen dialogue on policies and promote economic and financial stability.

Meetings with Key Stakeholders

During this mission, IMF representatives will meet with representatives from government agencies, the private sector, banks, and civil society organizations. These meetings are intended to assess Oman’s economic and financial performance and exchange views on key developments, challenges, and opportunities. Article IV consultations are a key component of the IMF's economic surveillance over member countries and include an assessment of economic conditions and policies, along with discussions on growth prospects and potential risks.

Oman, emphasizing its commitment to transparency in economic performance and international cooperation, seeks to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and the government’s efforts towards comprehensive and sustainable development. This mission not only helps to critique and review the current situation but also contributes to enriching Oman’s knowledge and experience in economic and financial fields.
