Her Excellency Hujaijah bint Jaifar Al Said, a social entrepreneur and leader of the Omani community, spoke in a deep interview about the vital role of women in national development and social responsibilities in Oman. This discussion took place on Omani Women's Day on October 17 and examined the achievements and challenges facing women in the country.
The Journey of Omani Women: From the Past to the Present
Her Excellency Hujaijah referred to the journey of Omani women in this conversation, describing it as a story of determination, opportunity, and love for the country. She acknowledged the women who came before them and emphasized that under the wise leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Omani women move forward with confidence and appreciation. As an Omani woman, she takes pride in her achievements and considers herself responsible for helping the next generation.
The Role of Women in National Development
Her Excellency Hujaijah added: "Omani women have a share in every place where the country is being built: in education, health, business, and in their homes. Raising a generation with strong values is itself a significant contribution to the future of Oman." She pointed out that women can act with compassion and improve the lives of families through their social initiatives. This contribution is not only measured by professional successes but is also evident in the lives they enhance.
Real Empowerment of Women in Oman
Her Excellency Hujaijah defined the concept of effective empowerment as follows: "Real empowerment means that a woman has education, confidence, and the opportunity to make decisions. It means listening to her ideas, trusting her with responsibilities, and supporting her for success." She also highlighted the importance of access for women in various circumstances, including women with disabilities and those who need more education or employment.
She advised Omani youth to start where they are, with what they can offer, and never wait for a title to serve others. "In times of success, reach out your hand to another woman. This is how individual success becomes a sustainable contribution to society."
The Future Outlook for Omani Women
Her Excellency Hujaijah concluded by referring to the future of Omani women in the coming decade, saying: "I hope more women will lead in businesses, participate in research and innovations, and play roles in decision-making. I also hope that more women, wherever they live and under whatever circumstances, find opportunities to develop their talents."
With this statement, Her Excellency Hujaijah sent a clear message to Omani youth that they should never overlook their share in changing lives and should serve their community by developing their talents.
