Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, announced that President Donald Trump believes Poland (لهستان) deserves a place in the G20. He praised Warsaw's economic growth and military modernization, expressing hope that the country will be invited again to next year's global summit.
Washington's Strong Support for Poland
Rubio, at the end of the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Georgia, specifically commended the Polish delegation present at the meeting and linked Poland's increasing geopolitical position to U.S. strategic interests. He stated, "President Trump strongly believes that Poland deserves a seat at this table of global leaders, and we are very hopeful that they and other strong emerging countries will be invited next year."
Emphasis on Poland's Domestic Progress
These statements reflect Washington's strong support for Warsaw's continued presence in future discussions, although Rubio did not mention specific details about official changes in the group's composition or granting permanent membership. He also praised Poland's domestic advancements, noting the significant progress the country has made in trade and national security preparedness. He stated that these advancements are the result of prioritizing the welfare of citizens and national sovereignty.
Rubio said, "They have become stronger; as a nation, they are more resilient, and therefore the United States, as an ally and partner of Poland, is also stronger."
This official affirmation was made during a comprehensive meeting in Atlanta as part of the logistical preparations for the upcoming G20 leaders' summit in Florida, scheduled for December. Rubio emphasized that the U.S. presidency is deliberately focused on financial stability and economic priorities.
The discussions among foreign ministers at this meeting included key global areas such as energy resilience, technological innovation, supply chain continuity, and freedom of maritime passage. Rubio described these challenges as complex and interdependent, stressing the necessity of multilateral cooperation.
He expressed appreciation for all invited participants for their active participation, introducing the December summit as a milestone in the government's multilateral diplomatic agenda. Despite an overall positive assessment of these negotiations, Rubio pointed to persistent diplomatic barriers and limitations of formal agreements among representatives.
