The President of the United States, Donald Trump, rejected any suggestion to ease sanctions against Iran and stated that no proposal to end the war has been offered to Iran. Trump wrote in a post on his social media: "This claim is false. I have not offered them anything."

Trump's Positions on Iran's Nuclear Program

Several media outlets reported that Trump is willing to ask Iran to show "tangible progress" in its nuclear program by offering financial incentives and easing sanctions. The U.S. President had previously stated that the main goal of the war was to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to end threats against its neighbors.

Iran's Readiness for Dialogue and Rejection of Sanctions

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, stated in an interview that Tehran is ready to discuss its nuclear program and other issues, but will not be pressured or threatened in any way. He said: "Iran is not seeking war, but will defend itself against pressures and threats." Pezeshkian also emphasized that Iran is committed to its previous agreements regarding the non-development of nuclear weapons.

U.S. and Iranian officials have separately engaged with intermediaries in an effort to end the war that began seven months ago. Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, emphasized on Sunday that only diplomacy can lead to resolving disputes with the United States and Israel.

Araghchi also added that any action to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is dependent on specific conditions and announced that the proposed plan could involve a seven-day period for reopening the strait and halting regional conflicts. However, Trump rejected this plan, stating that Iran's willingness to negotiate is due to the poor economic situation in the country.

The war that Trump initiated in February, alongside Israel, has resulted in the deaths of thousands and serious disruptions to global energy supplies. Iran and its allies have responded to this war by escalating conflicts in the region.
