The Mecca Defense Pact Committee, signed between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, will hold a meeting on Monday in Riyadh. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Turkish ministers along with military and political officials from other countries will participate in this meeting.

Dimensions of the Meeting and Its Objectives

This meeting is being held to discuss recent developments in the region and ongoing efforts to institutionalize the Mecca Defense Pact. During this session, Turkish officials led by Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yaser Güler, the Minister of Defense, and General Suleiman Baqir Tolu, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, will be present.

In this context, Pakistani and Saudi officials will also represent their countries at this meeting. This meeting is considered an important opportunity to discuss strategies and joint plans among these countries.

Military Developments in Yemen

Regarding recent developments in Yemen, the leader of the Saudi-backed government in Yemen has announced that a major military operation against Ansar Allah (Houthis) has begun. This operation aims to capture territory under Houthi control. These developments could impact the Mecca Defense Pact Committee meeting.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister has also stated that Iran has suggested that the Houthis engage politically in Yemen issues. This topic will be one of the main points of discussion at the Mecca Defense Pact Committee meeting.

Turkey, as a key member of this pact, is striving to contribute to stability and security in the region in cooperation with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. This meeting could be an important step towards strengthening military and political relations among these countries.
