Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, traveled to Spain on November 4 to discuss with various officials at the Ibero-American Summit, including Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister of Spain. The main goal of this trip is to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and to explore security strategies against Russian attacks, especially ahead of the winter season.
Security and Diplomatic Talks
Zelensky announced in a message published on the Telegram app that plans for discussions with American officials are also included in this trip. He specifically mentioned the upcoming trilateral negotiations to be held in Abu Dhabi, which will include representatives from Ukraine and Russia. Zelensky stated: "In the coming days, contacts with the American side are planned. We are coordinating with our partners to achieve specific results in security matters and the next steps towards peace."

The Ibero-American Summit and Its Importance
The Ibero-American Summit, which Zelensky is attending, provides a very suitable opportunity to discuss international cooperation and regional security. This summit can help strengthen solidarity among the participating countries and also examine the timing and methods for assisting Ukraine under the current circumstances. Zelensky has emphasized that discussions at this summit will primarily focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense so that his country can become more resilient against Russian air attacks.
On the other hand, Steven Vitkoff, the Special Representative of the President of the United States, announced on Monday that the United States will host a meeting between representatives of Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11. The aim of this meeting is to discuss the end of the war and post-war security agreements, as well as to reduce tensions.
Before traveling to Spain, Volodymyr Zelensky also held talks in Germany and is currently working to garner international support for his country. These meetings reflect the importance of diplomacy in the current situation and the efforts to create effective solutions to address security challenges.
