The Israeli airstrike in Gaza on September 23 resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians. Local health officials reported that this attack took place in Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, and its target was the financial chief of Hamas.

Details of the Attack

According to information provided by doctors, individuals named Osama Abukhater and Mohammad Abulwan lost their lives in this attack. Additionally, two others were injured in this attack, and their condition is under evaluation.

Historical Context and Current Situation

Palestinian officials have stated that since the beginning of Israeli attacks on Gaza, over 73,000 people have lost their lives. These attacks began in October 2023, following an assault in which around 1,200 people were killed in Israel.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United States, refers to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, but so far, there has been no significant progress in this regard. Negotiations for an agreement regarding the disarmament of Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli forces have not yielded results, and Israeli airstrikes continue.

Since the start of the ceasefire, at least 1,400 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have died in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has also reported that four Israeli soldiers have been killed in these conflicts. Both sides, Israel and Hamas, have accused each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.
