The Fourth Qatar Real Estate Conference will take place from October 27 to 29, 2026, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). This conference is supported by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, to explore fundamental developments in the real estate sector and the investment opportunities created.

Transformation in the Real Estate Sector

This event will address the developments in this sector with the presence of government leaders, developers, investors, and policymakers. The conference agenda will cover topics such as real estate financing, return on investment, portfolio diversification, and the tokenization of real estate assets. The impact of economic and technological developments, sustainability, and geopolitical and economic changes on this sector will also be discussed.

Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Maliki, Chairman of Akarat, stated that this conference is being held amid rapid geopolitical changes that impact various sectors and markets. He emphasized that these developments, along with the changing business environment and legal frameworks, highlight the importance of strengthening resilience and investor confidence.

Investment and Collaboration Opportunities

According to reports, real estate transactions in Qatar reached approximately 10.69 billion Qatari riyals (about 2.9 billion USD) in the first half of 2026. Akarat aims to hold this conference to align with current developments in Qatar's real estate sector, strengthen collaborations and partnerships, and introduce quality investment opportunities.

Global investment is being driven towards restructuring large portfolios due to rapid technological changes and the search for secure assets with sustainable returns. Global financial reports highlight four prominent areas currently attracting international investments: artificial intelligence, tokenized assets, energy technology, and regional markets.

The Council of Ministers of Qatar approved a draft law on August 26, 2026, to regulate the tokenization of real estate and the trading of real estate tokens. Woutro Malmon, Business Director of Akarat, emphasized that this conference will help translate legal reforms into real activities in the market.

Sheikh Hamad bin Talal Al Thani, CEO of Diar Qatar, stressed the importance of strategic collaborations with Akarat as an optimal model for integration between the public and private sectors. He added that these collaborations will support Qatar's National Vision 2030 and enhance the competitiveness of this vital sector.

Ahmed Mohammed Al-Tayeb, CEO of Barwa Group, stated that the ongoing support for this conference emphasizes the group's commitment to fostering dialogue and exploring new investment and development opportunities in line with Qatar's National Vision 2030. He also highlighted the importance of strong partnerships and an attractive investment environment for the development of this sector.

In 2025, Qatar introduced several laws and initiatives to further develop the real estate sector. Citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council were allowed to own residential properties in specific areas for personal and family use. These reforms will help identify ownership areas and improve the regulation and management of residential and commercial units.
