Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, the leader of Bahrain's Shiites, stated in a statement that ensuring the security of the religious scholars of this country is a responsibility that falls on all the people of Bahrain. He specifically referred to the trial scheduled for November 8 for several prominent scholars and called for the people's support for them.

The Necessity of Supporting Religious Scholars

Ayatollah Qassim stated: "The entire nation is united, and it is the right of all people to stand alongside the religious scholars who are to be tried." He mentioned the names of three famous Bahraini scholars, including Sheikh Mohammed Sanqour, Sheikh Ali Al-Sadadi, and Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Ali, and regarded them as the best religious scholars in the country. These senior scholars are respected by the public for their knowledge, actions, and commitment to preserving the faith.

The Role of Religious Scholars in Society

The leader of Bahrain's Shiites referred to the essential role of religious scholars in society and said: "Religious scholars, as guardians of moral and human values, are always striving to serve the people and establish security and peace in society." He emphasized that if the approach of the Bahraini government aligns with the principles of justice, recognizing the role of scholars in serving the homeland and society will yield positive results.

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim also stressed that if the political system of Bahrain continues to deviate from the path of justice, the responsibility for the security of scholars who have been oppressed and harmed will fall on the people of Bahrain. He proposed two necessary actions to support the scholars: first, demanding the security and dignity of religious scholars, and second, adhering to a peaceful approach in social movements.

This prominent cleric pointed out the necessity of public consensus to defend religious scholars and noted that people should utilize every legitimate and reasonable means to support the scholars while remaining committed to their peaceful approach.
