Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, the leader of the Shia in Bahrain, stated that attributing any form of aggression or insult to the Holy Mecca to the people and government of Yemen is inconsistent with their beliefs and behavior, taking a firm stance against the recent claims of Saudi officials.

Religious Foundations of the People of Yemen

Sheikh Isa Qassim, in a message posted on the social media platform X, emphasized that the people and government of Yemen are known for their piety and steadfastness in the path of God. He continued that these characteristics have manifested in the words and actions of Yemenis, especially in difficult circumstances. In his view, these traits indicate that it is unlikely that the people of Yemen would even commit the slightest insult or aggression against the status of the Holy Mecca and the Sacred House of God.

Ayatollah Qassim also emphasized that any action contrary to the respect and reverence for this sacred place is by no means within the realm of Yemeni behavior. This statement comes at a time when the claims of Saudi officials regarding Yemen targeting Mecca have been intensely debated.

Response from Yemeni Officials

Mahdi Al-Mashat, the head of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, has also previously rejected these claims and emphasized that the Yemeni army does not target Mecca and Islamic sanctities. He stated that these claims are an attempt to provoke public opinion and create tension in the region. Al-Mashat also pointed out that those who have insulted Islamic sanctities should not accuse Yemen of aggression against Mecca, referencing the incident of gifting the Kaaba's curtain to Jeffrey Epstein.

It seems that these positions have emerged in response to reciprocal claims regarding the attack or aggression against Mecca, with each party presenting a different narrative on the matter. These disagreements reflect the existing tensions in the region and the need for dialogue and understanding among parties to reduce tensions.

In this context, it should be noted that establishing peace and preventing military conflicts in the Middle East requires cooperation and positive interaction among various countries. The claims made about Yemen's attack on Mecca, in a situation where tensions in this region have increased, could have negative impacts on the security and stability of the region.

Overall, the stance of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim and other Yemeni officials may be a sign of efforts to maintain Islamic unity and prevent further divisions among Muslims. This issue could be a key topic in future discussions regarding regional issues and relations among countries.
