Abdul Hossein Rouhalamini, a member of the Executive Board of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), commented on the holding of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) meeting, which the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran also attended. In this meeting, the Iranian delegation examined the proposal for an emergency item raised by Bahraini representatives regarding the liberation of shipping in the Persian Gulf.
Iran's Parliamentary Delegation's Response to Bahrain's Proposal
Rouhalamini further referred to the Iranian parliamentary delegation's reaction to this proposal and noted that the Iranian delegation at the APA meeting identified the main factors of regional problems, especially in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as a result of the imposed war against the Iranian nation. This member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized that the existing issues in the region, particularly in the Persian Gulf, must be fundamentally examined and addressed.
Control of Strategic Waterways by Neighboring Countries
Rouhalamini also announced that the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of its neighboring countries, and governments that are thousands of kilometers away from this waterway are not allowed to make decisions regarding it. This viewpoint clearly emphasizes the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of regional countries and reflects the serious stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding security and economic issues in the Persian Gulf.
It is worth mentioning that Manouchehr Mottaki heads the Executive Board of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and, along with the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which includes Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini, head of the Economic Commission and representative of the people of Tonekabon, Abdul Hossein Rouhalamini, member of the Program and Budget Commission and representative of the people of Tehran, Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh, member of the Health Commission and representative of the people of Babolsar, and Fathollah Tosuli, spokesman of the Economic Commission and representative of the people of Bahar and Kabudarahang, has traveled to the city of Arusha in Tanzania to participate in the 153rd IPU Assembly.
