Barcelona achieved a resounding and high-scoring victory over Alavés on Saturday, regaining the top position in La Liga. This win followed two consecutive defeats in the UEFA Champions League and El Clásico, showcasing a strong response from the team under coach Hansi Flick.
Brilliant Performance from Barcelona Players
In this match, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal each scored two goals, playing a key role in their team's victory. Raphinha scored in the eighth and twenty-third minutes, while Ferman Lopez found the net in the 21st and 45th minutes. Yamal also had an outstanding performance, scoring in the first and second halves at the 45th and 60th minutes.

This victory returned Barcelona to the top of the table with a two-point lead over Atlético Madrid, who earlier in the day won 2-0 against Levante. Given the absence of several key defenders, Flick decided to play Frenkie de Jong in a central defensive role and gave young Brian Farias his first opportunity to play. These changes paid off well, allowing Barcelona to secure a comfortable victory.
Continuation of La Liga and Coach's Reaction
Barcelona displayed high spirits in front of their fans during this match. Ferman Lopez stated in a post-match interview: "This week was tough for us, and there was no better place than Camp Nou to get back to our previous form. Our fans play a significant role in this success, and with their presence, we can achieve great things."
As Barcelona heads to face Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, the team will have a crucial match against Atlético Madrid next Sunday. This match is considered an important competition in the league table.
The Alavés team, which suffered a heavy defeat in this match, is now in tenth place in the table and needs quick changes in their performance with seven games without a win. Alavés midfielder Ander Guerra commented on his team's situation: "We need to move forward as quickly as possible. There’s no need to worry; we know we are in a bad situation, but our team is mature and humble."
In other matches on this day, Atlético Madrid, under the guidance of Diego Simeone, secured victory over Levante with goals from Alexandru Grimado and Giuliano Simeone, marking their seventh consecutive win in La Liga. Simeone also commented: "I am very satisfied with the team's performance. There is still a long way to go until the end of the season, and we will proceed step by step."
