Dar Al Atta’a in Oman successfully held the tenth edition of the Grand Donation Competition, raising a significant amount of one million four thousand seven hundred seventy-nine Omani Rials (OMR 1,004,779). This success particularly highlights the collective efforts of the young volunteers who participated in this competition.

Emotional and Proud Moments

The ceremony took place in an atmosphere filled with joy and pride, where tears of joy and pride reflected the importance of this achievement. More than a financial success, this event was recognized as a powerful example of what youth can achieve through empathy, will, and a sense of shared responsibility.

The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al-Busaidi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, and attended by special guests, members of the State Council and Shura Council, deputies, families, and supporters. This competition, which started five months ago, included 57 charity teams from public and private universities and colleges across Oman.

Achievements and Social Impacts

The results of this competition were remarkable. The participating teams helped alleviate the problems of 163 families in need through their charitable initiatives, and for the first time in the history of this competition, two teams succeeded in building two homes for needy families. In the final stage, 23 teams were recognized for their excellence in various categories, showcasing their creativity, professionalism, social impact, and financial successes.

During the closing ceremony, teams whose initiatives demonstrated various aspects of effective charitable work were honored. In the category of “Best Innovative Idea,” awards were given to the Dathar team from Sultan Qaboos University and the Hama team from Arab Open University. Additionally, the “Best Professional Execution” awards were given to the Kahitin team from Modern College of Business and Science and the Oboor team from Sultan Qaboos University.

The Qut Al Atta team from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Muscat and the Bonyan team from Sultan Qaboos University were recognized as winners of the “Most Social Impact” award. The “Best Sustainable Initiative” awards were also granted to the Nafas team from Nizwa University and the Raafat team from UTAS Nizwa.

Minister's Praise for Omani Youth

Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al-Busaidi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, highlighted the achievements of the participating students during the ceremony and appreciated their initiative, collaboration, and commitment to social responsibility. He stated, "What we witnessed today makes us proud of Omani youth. They showcased an inspiring example of generosity and cooperation, and through their efforts and initiatives, they managed to raise over one million Omani Rials and help alleviate the problems of needy families."

He also noted that this success reflects deeper values within the Omani community, particularly solidarity, empathy, and cooperation that Omani families teach their children and pass down from generation to generation.

In conclusion, the minister added, "No matter how many words of thanks and appreciation we express to these youth, it will never be enough to do justice to their efforts. They are a source of pride for this nation." He also thanked Dar Al Atta’a for organizing this competition for ten editions and continuing its social and charitable initiatives.
