Dr. Adel Al-Zamel, Deputy Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy of Kuwait, discussed planning for Summer 2027 with representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) on Sunday. This meeting aimed to enhance cooperation and coordination to meet the increasing electricity demands during the summer season.

Strengthening Cooperation to Meet Electricity Needs

During this meeting, the parties examined ways to enhance cooperation and coordination to ensure and increase the capacity of electricity networks in Summer 2027. Dr. Al-Zamel emphasized that, given the rising demand for electricity during the hot months of the year, necessary measures must be taken to improve and strengthen the electricity network. The main goal of this initiative is to ensure the reliability and sustainability of electricity supply in the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority.

Reviewing the Requirements of the Interconnection Authority

During the continuation of the meeting, the requirements of the Interconnection Authority from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity for the safe operation of the Gulf electricity network and the maintenance of the stability of the networks of member countries were reviewed. This cooperation will contribute to increasing efficiency and ensuring energy security in the region. Dr. Al-Zamel also stressed the importance of this issue in improving the quality of energy services and meeting the growing needs of society.

This meeting can be considered a significant step towards strengthening energy infrastructure and improving electricity supply conditions in Summer 2027. Given the climatic conditions and the growing energy needs of society, these developments are seen as a means to enhance energy infrastructure and increase the efficiency of electricity networks in the Gulf countries.
