The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) today, Wednesday, issued a statement extending its warning for tense areas in the Persian Gulf. According to this warning, airlines are required to refrain from flying over the waters of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar until Monday, November 16.
History of the Warning and Previous Assessments
This decision marks the second time since the initial issuance of this warning in July. In the initial warning, statements were made regarding the assessment of regional risks and recommendations for airlines to avoid flying in the entire airspace of the Gulf Cooperation Council member countries. This recommendation included all altitudes and flight levels.

In August, this warning was revised, and the areas included were limited to the waters above the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. In today's update, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency emphasized that there have been no changes to its previous recommendations other than the extension of the deadline.
Consequences of Regional Insecurity
This extension comes at a time when illegal incursions by the United States and the Zionist regime into Iranian territory and the destabilization of the strategic Strait of Hormuz have severely impacted the security situation in the region. These conditions have posed challenges not only for the countries in the region but also for the European Union.
Considering these factors, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency has called for serious attention from airlines to its recommendations. This action appears to be aimed at ensuring the safety of passengers and preventing unfortunate incidents.
As political and military tensions in the region have increased, such warnings could have negative impacts on the tourism and air transport industries of the Gulf countries. This situation could lead to a decrease in travel and demand for air services, which in turn will affect the economies of these countries.
