Families of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York are awaiting a key ruling regarding a case that examines Saudi Arabia's role in supporting the hijackers of these attacks. Terry Strada, national chair of the September 11 Families group, expressed hope for nearing the realization of justice.
History of the Search for Justice
Terry Strada, whose husband died in the September 11 attacks, has been pursuing justice since 2004. This week, she and other victim families felt they were close to a court session in the United States where it is claimed that Islamists have gained influence within the Saudi government and assisted two of the 19 hijackers of these attacks.

The Case and Raised Questions
If judges in New York ultimately reject Saudi Arabia's request to dismiss the case based on sovereign immunity and uphold the 2005 ruling, this case may go to court next year. Meanwhile, important questions have been raised by judges regarding the claims, which have been encouraging for the families.
The case focuses on the role of Omar al-Bayoumi, a Saudi citizen, who helped the hijackers settle in San Diego. According to the 9/11 Commission, neither of these two hijackers had piloting qualifications and it appears they needed assistance to carry out this mission.
Saudi Arabia's Position
An attorney representing Saudi Arabia has claimed that the country has never sought to harm the United States and there is no evidence of official Saudi support for al-Qaeda. He pointed out that the attacks were planned separately within al-Qaeda and there is no reason to link Saudi Arabia to it.
Victim families have also criticized the lack of transparency and the dismissal of evidence, calling for greater accountability from various governments. Meanwhile, a conference of conspiracy theorists was also held in New York, examining the inconsistencies in the official narratives of the September 11 attacks.
If this case goes to court, it may lead to the discovery of new information about other potential al-Qaeda cells in various states across the United States. Families are seeking to uncover the truths and justice for their loved ones and have stated that they will continue to fight for this goal.
