Hezbollah Lebanon, led by Naim Qassem, announced that it will soon assist a project to provide housing for thousands of individuals displaced by the war with Israel. This announcement was made during Qassem's speech commemorating the second anniversary of the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of this group, by Israel in 2024.
Hezbollah's Commitment to Housing and Reconstruction
Naim Qassem emphasized in this speech that the party is committed to providing shelter, reconstruction, and renovation using available resources and aid. He also announced that detailed information about the new housing project for residents of villages that have been completely destroyed will be released soon.

Qassem also referred to the responsibility of the Lebanese government in providing shelter and compensating the refugees, stating: "It is still their duty to fulfill their responsibilities regarding housing, compensation, and all commitments related to reconstruction and renovation."
The Dimensions of the Displacement Crisis in Lebanon
Following the outbreak of a new war between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in early March, over one million people in Lebanon have been displaced, constituting nearly a quarter of the country's population. While most of these individuals have returned to their homes, more than 340,000 are still displaced, as their cities have been destroyed or are located in areas occupied by the Israeli army.
As of March 2, Israeli airstrikes have killed over 4,300 people in Lebanon, including more than 250 children. Additionally, over 12,000 others have been injured, of which 1,000 are children. These statistics highlight the catastrophic humanitarian dimensions in the region and underscore the need for immediate and effective action in terms of reconstruction and support for refugees.
Hezbollah, emphasizing the necessity of cooperation and collaboration among various groups and institutions in Lebanon, seeks to establish a solid foundation for the reconstruction and revitalization of war-affected areas. This initiative could serve as a positive step towards improving the situation of refugees and rebuilding damaged infrastructure.
