The second Forum of Child Protection Committees was held in the North Al Batinah Governorate of Oman under the title "Safe Childhood." This event was organized by the Ministry of Social Development with the aim of raising awareness about children's rights and strengthening social cooperation in the community.
Objectives of the Forum and the Importance of Child Protection
Mohammed Hamid Al Kalbani, Director General of the Ministry of Social Development in the North Al Batinah Governorate, stated that the main objective of this Forum is to expand awareness about children's rights and enhance community participation in this area. He emphasized national efforts and established partnerships to achieve a safe childhood and strengthen the social security system in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Al Kalbani also stressed the necessity of child protection in Oman as a national need to ensure sustainable development and social cohesion. He regarded the Child Protection Law and the establishment of Child Protection Committees in various governorates as a sign of Oman's commitment to creating a safe environment for healthy growth and effective participation of children.
Scientific Content and Discussions of the Forum
This Forum included the presentation of seven specialized papers that addressed the statistics of Child Protection Committees in 2025, case management for child protection, and the legal aspects of protecting children from digital environment hazards. The papers also discussed the necessary skills for dealing with abused children, counseling and rehabilitation interventions, the impact of parental stress on children, and the creation of a unified protocol for all Child Protection Committees.
This event was held under the patronage of Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and was attended by Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Deputy Minister of Social Development for Family and Community Development, as well as several heads and members of Child Protection Committees in Oman. At the end of the Forum, public discussions were held about the presented papers, and members of Child Protection Committees from various governorates of Oman were honored.
