20 Israeli tourists in Lalibela, Ethiopia, are in a critical situation due to the escalation of conflicts in the northern Tigray region. This group of tourists stated in a message to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs that they are trapped in the area due to recent violence and are facing shortages of food, fuel, and electricity.
Severe Situation in Lalibela
The group of tourists emphasized in their message that given the intensity of the conflicts and the closure of the airport, the situation may continue indefinitely. They wrote in this message: “Flights have been indefinitely canceled, and this is no longer just a few days' delay.” In their view, food, fuel, and liquidity resources in this city have become severely limited, and living conditions are becoming increasingly difficult day by day.

Risk of Communication Breakdown
These tourists expressed concern that communications may be completely cut off, as happened the day before in the Tigray region. This would make it more difficult for them to communicate with the Israeli embassy in Addis Ababa and their families in Israel.
Under the current circumstances, these tourists have requested assistance from the Israeli government and hope that necessary actions will be taken for their evacuation. Recent conflicts in Tigray have intensified due to the advance of militants and rising tensions in the region.
