The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran has asked the American people to vote against Donald Trump's allies in Congress in the upcoming elections. This request coincides with the withdrawal of American forces from their bases in Iraq, which Tehran considers a victory.

Trump's Government and Upcoming Elections

In a 26-page letter, Iran has urged Americans to use their political power to remove current politicians from power and to refrain from U.S. support for Israel and military intervention in other countries. This letter seems unlikely to have much impact among American voters, but it raises issues that American political analysts believe could be detrimental to Trump and the Republican Party in the upcoming congressional elections.

Consequences of War with Iran

The Trump administration has promised in 2024 to prevent new wars and to end existing conflicts. However, the war with Iran, which began alongside Israel, has fueled rising global fuel prices and regional tensions. Recent polls show that only 17 percent of respondents approve of Trump's handling of the cost-of-living crisis.

The withdrawal of American forces from Iraq comes after 23 years and is part of an agreement signed in 2024 by former President Joe Biden. Trump, who distanced himself from the traditional Republican stance by criticizing the invasion of Iraq in 2016, has now officially realized the final withdrawal from Iraq.

The war with Iran has also extended to Iranian allies in the region, including the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Iraqi militias. Iran, which has declared that its ultimate goal is to force American forces to leave the entire Middle East, views the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq as a victory for its "resistance axis."

However, negotiations between the U.S. and Iran to end the war have yet to yield results despite multiple rounds of talks and several ceasefires. Qatar is acting as a mediator in an effort to create a framework for an agreement that would prevent the consequences of war.
