The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, emphasized his country's refusal to surrender in the war against the United States and stated that diplomacy remains a proposed solution to end these tensions.
Emphasis on the Importance of the Strait of Hormuz
Pezeshkian specifically pointed out the importance of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas passes, and announced that this region has become the focal point of tensions between Iran and the United States. He stated: "It cannot be that everyone benefits from the Strait of Hormuz while we are deprived of access to shipping through this waterway."

Response to U.S. Tensions and Threats
In this speech, Pezeshkian also referred to U.S. threats and stated that the deployment of hostile fleets and the escalation of war would not lead to peace. This speech came a day after remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, in which he outlined the reasons for his war with Iran and claimed to have prevented Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Pezeshkian, emphasizing diplomacy, deemed dialogue and international cooperation essential under the current circumstances and said: "We seek peace while firmly defending our rights."
Pezeshkian's remarks came as U.S. representatives left the hall at the beginning of his speech, indicating high tensions and a lack of willingness to engage in dialogue from the U.S. While diplomacy is considered an acceptable solution, the current conditions and the history of tensions between the two countries present their own complexities.
