Historical Context and Current Situation
Palestinian officials have stated that since the beginning of Israeli attacks on Gaza, over 73,000 people have lost their lives. These attacks began in October 2023, following an assault in which around 1,200 people were killed in Israel.
A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United States, refers to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, but so far, there has been no significant progress in this regard. Negotiations for an agreement regarding the disarmament of Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli forces have not yielded results, and Israeli airstrikes continue.
Since the start of the ceasefire, at least 1,400 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have died in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has also reported that four Israeli soldiers have been killed in these conflicts. Both sides, Israel and Hamas, have accused each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.
