More than 100 Israeli settlers attacked Jaloud village in the West Bank, preventing a Palestinian family from returning to their home. This incident comes as anger and violence among Israeli settlers have sharply increased, drawing international criticism.
Details of the Attack on the Tubasi Family
Two homes belonging to the Tubasi family in Jaloud village were seized by Israeli settlers a few weeks ago. The Tubasi family had to relocate to another place in the village due to increasing violence and threats. The Israeli army agreed on Monday night to return the family to their homes and protect them from settlers.

However, about ten minutes after the family arrived home, a group of over 100 Israeli settlers stormed the area. They set fire to homes and blocked access routes, throwing stones at Israeli forces, resulting in injuries to three of them.
Consequences and Reactions
The Israeli army announced that due to the violence, the mission to return the Tubasi family to their homes was not completed. Eyewitnesses reported that military forces ordered Palestinians to go to the rooftops to stay safe from the violence, but ultimately evacuated them due to escalating clashes.
This incident highlights the Israeli army's inability to control Israeli settlers, who have increased their activities under the right-wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu condemned the violence in a statement and called on legal authorities to prosecute the attackers. However, human rights groups in Israel and Palestine say that settlers are often not held accountable for their violence.
One member of the Tubasi family, Walm Tubasi, told reporters that their homes were severely damaged, stating, "They destroyed everything - the doors, tiles, and even the staircases. They broke everything and left nothing behind."
On Tuesday, reporters arrived at the scene and observed that the walls were blackened and stained with tar and remnants of tires that settlers had brought into the house and set on fire. At that time, about six Israeli soldiers were patrolling the area, and the Tubasi family was not present.
The Israeli army also announced that two settlers had been arrested and an investigation into the incident had begun.
In another incident in the West Bank, settlers set fire to vehicles in the village of al-Mughayer and painted the word "revenge" on the wall of an apartment building. One resident of this village, Mousa Mohammed Hamdan, commented on the settlers' behavior: "Wherever they see vehicles, livestock, or olive trees, they destroy them - anything that can harm us. But by God's will, we will remain patient."
