Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shraiqi, the Minister of Interior and Customs of Oman, has issued a decision establishing new tariffs for the issuance of security certificates. This decision includes a certificate of no criminal record for Omani citizens and a certificate of good conduct for foreign residents.

Details of the New Tariffs

According to the information provided, Article 1 of this decision amends Clause 3 of Annex to Decision No. 67/2016 and sets the tariff for the issuance of the fingerprint identification certificate (البصمة العشریة) at 5 Omani Rials. This new tariff has been adopted to facilitate and improve the process of issuing security certificates for citizens and residents of the country.

New Security Certificate Services

In addition to the new tariffs, Article 2 of this decision has added two new services to the annex. Clause 6 establishes the issuance of a certificate of no criminal record for Omani citizens at a tariff of 3 Omani Rials, and Clause 7 establishes the issuance of a certificate of good conduct for foreign nationals at a tariff of 20 Omani Rials. These services are provided to offer more modern facilities and services for citizens and residents of the country.

The Ministry of Interior of Oman aims to regulate the procedures for issuing security certificates and expand the scope of modern services to citizens and residents with this decision. This decision will particularly impact the facilitation of administrative processes and improvement of public services.

Implications of These Changes

With the new changes in the tariffs for security services, it is expected that the process of applying for and issuing these certificates for citizens and residents of Oman will be facilitated. Additionally, this action may help increase public trust in the country's security and administrative systems. On the other hand, setting reasonable tariffs for these services could lead to increased public satisfaction with government services.

Ultimately, these changes reflect the Omani government's attention to the needs of citizens and residents and its efforts to improve the quality of public services. With the implementation of this decision, Oman has taken effective steps towards enhancing its administrative and security system.
