The City Council of Kuwait, in a meeting chaired by Abdullah Al-Muhri, approved the request of the Kuwait Oil Company (KPC) to confirm the boundaries of the Shuaiba oil complex. This meeting took place on Monday, and the City Council voted positively on the technical recommendations related to this site, which covers an area of approximately 64,591.94 square meters. It has been emphasized that all coordination should be done with the Government Real Estate Contracts Department of the Ministry of Finance.

Development of the Messila Beach Project

The City Council also approved the request of the Ministry of Finance to amend a previous decision regarding the development project of the Tourism Investments Company at Messila Beach 2. This project, which is planned to cover an area of approximately 70,334.5 square meters, is designed to organize construction, commercial, recreational, sports, and cultural activities. The project will include recreational, educational, and training facilities, children's play areas, exhibitions, museums, indoor and outdoor sports fields, as well as cinemas and wellness centers.

Change of Use for Office Lands

In another decision, the City Council approved the request of the Ministry of Public Works to amend the first clause of its previous decision regarding commercial spaces in the new passenger terminal (T2) of Kuwait International Airport. Additionally, the request of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy for the allocation of a fresh water pipeline corridor approximately 480 meters long and five meters wide in the Al-Rahiya area was approved. This corridor will be extended from the intersection of the Sixth Ring Road near the ammunition camp to supply water for a military camp currently under land allocation.

The City Council also approved the request of the Ministry of Justice to change the use of a plot of land in the Shuaiba administrative area. This land, which was initially allocated for the establishment of a multi-story parking lot for the Public Prosecution building and adjacent areas, will now be designated for an office building and multi-story parking lots. According to the approved plans, this land covers approximately 6,625.37 square meters.

The City Council also approved two requests from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to allocate locations for subsidized food distribution centers in Rigga and Jabir Al-Ali, each covering an area of 1,000 square meters. These centers will serve as points for selling and distributing subsidized and discounted food items with short-term storage facilities to support residents of the surrounding residential areas.
