The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait has launched a new integrated website and digital portal, offering hundreds of electronic services that cover over 99% of the ministry's services. Marwa Al-Juwaidin, the Assistant Minister of Commerce and Industry, announced at a press conference that this portal represents a new step in the ministry's digital transformation, aiming to provide a simpler, faster, and integrated experience for individuals, businesses, and government entities.

Collaboration with Government Entities and Streamlining Processes

Al-Juwaidin referred to the electronic connection of this portal with dozens of government entities, which is established both directly and through the Google Apigee platform supported by the Central Information Technology Agency. This feature will help reduce administrative steps, expedite transactions, and improve services. Users can initiate and track their requests through a single platform and access related services. This portal has also been integrated with the government electronic services application “Sahl”.

Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and New Financial Systems

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is also utilizing artificial intelligence in collaboration with Microsoft, which includes a smart assistant that helps business owners and customers familiarize themselves with services, requirements, and procedures, start business activities, and submit and track their requests.

Al-Juwaidin added that this transformation includes a new system for companies to electronically submit budgets and financial statements using the XBRL standard. This initiative will enhance the quality and accuracy of financial data, expedite reviews, and strengthen transparency and oversight. Electronic submission in XBRL format will be mandatory starting January 1, 2027.

She also emphasized that the new digital system supports the ministry's regulatory and strategic priorities, including food security, market oversight and supply chain, and combating money laundering and terrorism financing through information integration and digital analysis. The launch of this portal will mark the beginning of a new phase of continuous development that will make the ministry's services more accessible and faster.
