The Anti-Corruption Authority of Kuwait (Nazha) on Monday launched a three-day educational program aimed at promoting honesty and combating corruption. This program is attended by observers from 20 government agencies and addresses the role and competencies of the authority in this regard.

Promoting a Culture of Honesty

This initiative reflects the authority's commitment to clarifying its duties and strengthening cooperation with government agencies, contributing to coordinated efforts to protect public assets and build trust in institutional work. Nazha announced that this program marks the beginning of a series of training courses that respond to the various needs of government agencies and has invited public institutions to participate in future programs.

Content of the Training Course

This course includes training on the role and competencies of Nazha, concepts of honesty and anti-corruption, preventive measures, and the importance of professional responsibility. The goal of this program is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge to promote transparency and honesty in their workplaces and understand the legal frameworks and procedures related to anti-corruption efforts. This program particularly focuses on supervisory staff to enhance their role in leading work teams, strengthening compliance, and supporting the implementation of supervisory and preventive measures in their institutions.

Nazha also announced that a similar program for executive-level staff in government agencies is planned for February 2027. The first day of this course will be dedicated to reviewing the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the law establishing Nazha, its objectives, duties, and competencies, and its role at the international level.

This program also emphasizes the necessity for participants to be familiar with reporting channels and procedures, stating that reporting suspected cases of corruption and cooperating with the authority to support its efforts is essential. Nazha stresses the importance of the preventive aspects of anti-corruption work and practical approaches to strengthen honesty and transparency in government institutions.

Registration for government employees interested in participating in future training programs is open from October 2026 to February 2027 to reach the broadest possible segment of the public workforce. Planned courses will include the Law on Access to Information, the Conflict of Interest Law, the Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics, and promoting honesty and combating financial and administrative corruption.
