Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Health of Kuwait, met on Wednesday with Anwar Al-Halila, CEO of the Tourism Investment Company (TEC), to explore ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership in public health and environmental health.
Efforts to Create a Healthy Environment
This meeting is part of the Ministry of Health's efforts to develop institutional partnerships and enhance coordination with national entities to support preventive programs and maintain a healthy and sustainable environment in Kuwait. The two sides discussed how to collaborate to ensure a healthy environment in tourism and coastal facilities and sites, and addressed strengthening environmental health and protection against health hazards.
Pest and Pathogen Control
The meeting also emphasized the need for intensified monitoring and preventive control of pests and pathogens and limiting environmental factors that could impact public health. The aim of these measures was to protect visitors and staff at these sites.
Other topics discussed during this meeting included promoting the concept of "One Health," which addresses the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health. Additionally, collaboration on health and environmental awareness and education was also on the agenda. The two sides discussed promoting good practices that raise public awareness and help prevent health hazards.
This meeting was attended by Dr. Al-Munther Al-Hassawi, Deputy for Public Health Affairs, and Mubarak Al-Aini, Deputy CEO of TEC for Projects and Development.
