Kuwait Municipality has strengthened field inspection campaigns across all governorates to effectively implement urban regulations and enhance public safety and health. Mohammed Al-Sandan, the Director of Public Relations and official spokesperson for the municipality, announced on Saturday the increased efforts of inspection teams in various areas.
Oversight of Construction Projects and Environmental Violations
Safety department teams are closely monitoring safety measures at renovation and construction sites and are also working to prevent illegal dumping of construction waste. These teams will take necessary actions against violating contractors and will inspect storage sites operating under various types of contracts to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
Al-Sandan also added that inspection teams are intensifying their efforts to address unauthorized occupation of public walkways. These actions include removing boats from public squares, open areas, and parking lots in service, industrial, and commercial zones. Violators will be required to park their boats only in designated areas.
Monitoring Public Health and Markets
Public health teams are also monitoring cleanliness in densely populated areas to reduce violations related to health regulations. Al-Sandan emphasized that inspection and oversight teams will continue to examine public markets, including wholesale and retail centers, and will also review the validity of health permits issued for various businesses.
He also praised the role of national engineers in inspecting and monitoring construction projects, stating that these efforts contribute to compliance with regulations and building standards in residential, commercial, industrial, and handicraft developments.
These actions by Kuwait Municipality reflect the institution's commitment to creating a safe and healthy environment for citizens and residents of the country, and it is expected that with more stringent oversight, violations will decrease and quality of life will improve.
