Majid Al Ansari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, stated that the Gulf countries are committed to diplomatic solutions and that a lack of investment in peace could threaten international security.
Emphasis on Diplomacy and the Costs of Peace
Al Ansari announced in an interview that Qatar continues its efforts to achieve peace and has rejected any attacks on its territory. He noted that diplomacy should be at the center of resolving regional and international conflicts.
He said, "Peace is a very precious commodity and its cost must be paid." Al Ansari added that Qatar has taken on significant costs since the beginning of its efforts to achieve peace, but this should not be interpreted as acceptance of attacks on the country.
Risks Arising from Regional Crises
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized that the country's diplomatic efforts continue alongside the activities of its armed forces and security institutions. He pointed to the importance of international cooperation to prevent the recurrence of these attacks and stated, "Qatar will continue its efforts for peace, regardless of anyone who tries to divert us from this path."
Regarding the broader regional situation, Al Ansari noted that the current crises reflect the consequences of failing to address long-standing issues and stressed that the recent statements from the Gulf countries emphasize the reconstruction of the regional security system and strengthening Gulf leadership.
He also mentioned the dangers arising from multiple wars and raised questions about whether the international community has adequately recognized these dangers. Al Ansari said, "Could it be that we are now in the first year of World War III?" and warned that this situation could become a serious threat if neglect continues.
In conclusion, Al Ansari emphasized that military action should not be the only option for countries involved in crises and that diplomacy should still be presented as the first option. He stated, "At no time should the military option be the only available option."
