Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, expressed deep concern on Saturday over Israeli settlers' attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. While preparing to fly to Uzbekistan, he stated that the images released from these attacks have "deeply concerned us all." Rubio also emphasized that the Washington government has asked Israel to take more serious actions against such acts.
Emphasis on Preventing Escalation of Tensions
Rubio further stated that President Donald Trump has clearly indicated that he does not want to see an increase in tensions or new crises in the West Bank. These concerns have risen following recent attacks on Palestinians, particularly the attack on an American photojournalist named Heidi Levin while covering news related to attacks on Palestinian farmers in the area. Levin was transferred to a hospital in Ramallah due to injuries sustained from this attack.

Attacks on Diplomats and International Institutions
On Saturday, the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, reported that settlers armed with vehicles attacked European diplomats in the village of Taybeh, located east of Ramallah. These attacks indicate an increase in tensions and insecurity in the region, raising global concerns. Rubio also announced that the U.S. Department of State is awaiting a response from its embassy in Jerusalem regarding the attack on Levin by Sunday.
Marco Rubio emphasized that these actions are "deeply concerning and completely unacceptable," calling for immediate and serious action from Israel against such behaviors. He stated that the United States seeks to maintain stability and security in the region and believes that any neglect of such attacks could have dire consequences for the peace process and security in the Middle East.
