President Dema Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana hosted an official dinner at the Presidential Palace in honor of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman. This event was held to mark the historic visit of the Sultan of Oman to Botswana.

Before the dinner began, the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of Botswana were played. In his speech, the President of Botswana referred to this visit as a valuable opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new horizons of cooperation between the two friendly countries. He emphasized that his country is committed to this relationship and will work diligently and transparently to develop it.

Subsequently, the Sultan of Oman also delivered remarks at the ceremony, stating: "Mr. President Dema Gideon Boko, I am very happy to be here. I sincerely thank you, your government, and the people of Botswana for the warm welcome and unparalleled hospitality you have shown during our stay."
He continued: "This visit is our first to the Republic of Botswana, a special occasion and an important milestone in the growing friendship between our two countries. We have come with a genuine desire to learn more about Botswana and its people, and we intend to create a relationship that brings our two nations and peoples closer together."
The Sultan of Oman also acknowledged that despite the geographical distance, Oman and Botswana share many similarities. "Our countries value peace and stability, emphasize dialogue and mutual respect, and understand the importance of development in a way that provides opportunities and prosperity for future generations."
He expressed satisfaction with the rapid progress of relations between the two countries and added: "The emerging partnerships between our institutions and businesses reflect a shared confidence in the future of this relationship."
In conclusion, the Sultan spoke warmly of cultural and social cooperation between the two countries and expressed hope that a new chapter in Omani-Botswana relations would be defined by such connections. The dinner was attended by ministers, members of the Botswana parliament, ambassadors, and entrepreneurs, highlighting the significance and seriousness of this historic meeting.
