Oman's Ministry of Health has announced that all citizens and residents accepted for the Hajj season of the year 1448 AH (2027 AD) must visit designated health centers in their provinces to receive mandatory vaccines.

Mandatory Vaccination Requirements

This directive includes individuals selected through the electronic screening results of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The mandatory vaccination requirements include the following:

  • Meningitis Vaccine: This vaccine is mandatory for all adults and children over two months. One dose of this vaccine provides protection for five years. Individuals who have received this vaccine in the past five years will be exempt if they provide vaccination documentation.
  • Flu Vaccine: One dose of the flu vaccine is also mandatory for all adults and children over six months to ensure seasonal immunity and prevent health complications.

Vaccination Schedule

The Ministry of Health has emphasized that all pilgrims must complete their vaccinations at least ten days before traveling to reduce the risk of diseases and maintain public health. This action is part of the ongoing efforts of Oman's Ministry of Health to enhance public health and prevent the spread of diseases during the Hajj rituals.

The Hajj is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, with millions of Muslims participating from all over the globe each year. Given the large number of pilgrims, adherence to health protocols and mandatory vaccinations can play a significant role in preventing the spread of diseases and ensuring the health of the pilgrims. Oman's Ministry of Health demonstrates that the health of pilgrims and the community is a priority, and efforts to create a safe and hygienic environment during the Hajj season will continue.
